Rise Above is an art program for homeless youth staying at the Safe Place shelter in Hillsboro Oregon. In Fall 2007 I launched the program fully funded. I created this program as part of my senior project at Marylhurst University it is now completely run by Hillsboro Community Art. Through grant writing I was able to have the program fully funded and with connections in the community I was able to obtain a gallery show for the youth artist to display their work. The program has been amazing for the youth and it was fun working on it.
