Finding Voice and Wings: Expressions of Taking Flight
I am seeking artists in all mediums who are interested in participating in a possible exhibition that would if selected, be produced in partnership with VSA arts and will include shipping, installation and de-installation, collaterals, marketing, publicity, and events. The exhibition will be initially considered for production and presentation at the Terrace Gallery of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts from May 28 to June 25, 2009. Exhibition will also be reviewed for programming in advance of and during the 2010 International VSA arts Festival. If not selected I plan to continue to seek exhibition spaces and options and will contact accepted artists about these opportunities.
Applicants from all mediums are encouraged to apply, artists with a disability will be given a preference but non-disabled artists will not be excluded and should apply.
Have you found your voice, or wings in order to take flight? Where did you find them? Do you feel like your voice is heard? Can you fly? How did you learn to use your voice or wings? These are just some of the inspiration that you can draw from in creating your work.
