balance

School has started, in force. 200 plus pages of reading, in depth discussion postings, a paper and a test the first week alone. Normally this would have left me totally overwhelmed and I am a bit, however at the same time I am really working on taking one day at a time. Staying organized, staying on top of things and trying to not fall behind. I am working toward gaining balance in life. It seems to be a theme I read in a lot of blogs, so I know I am not the only alone in trying to balance life’s demands. I want to get better at it. I want to not leave all the household chores to DH while I am in school cooking dinner almost 7 days a week is a bit unfair on top of doing laundry, cleaning up, etc… I also love to cook (and I have a little idea tucked in the back of my brain) so I would like to do more cooking. I am hoping I can fit it in once a week. I am working on keeping things put away to try and help keep things clean too. I want to balance work, school work, helping around the house, spending quality time with DH, pursuing creative things, exercising and spending time with some friends. It isn’t easy but its something I really strive for.
At the last yoga class I went to, my instructor was showing us how you could do just half a sun salutation and how this still gets the blood moving and links your breath with movement; a powerful thing. So the last two mornings I have been trying to do three half sun salutations as part of my morning routine. I have also been going to bed earlier and getting up earlier. We will see how long that actually works. I am really hoping though that constant attention to balance will bring me more tranquility.
