I was contracted by a regional leader of Edward Jones to design a local regions invite for their regional meeting. It was a fun to work with them to create a Tuscan feel for their invite. Below is the whole invite, some parts are market out to maintain confidentiality.

My chiropractor who is German and 7′2″ needed a second website that would help him build up his practice and focus on sports chiropractic. We build this site around the theme of sports with headers designed with that in mine. I wanted to keep it simple and too the point being clear and easy to navigate and use.

I like to use white and clean well coordinated colors. Since this had a sports theme I did choose some brighter colors like the orange in the header.

For the cover of this book I worked with four women who were publishing their book of poetry. The purpose of my design was to capture their four unique voices and show that in some way. This came into shape by for abstract forms in varying shades of gray. The background color was their choice but I felt went well with the overall design.

An art program for homeless teens in Hillsboro Oregon

Rise Above is an art program for homeless youth staying at the Safe Place shelter in Hillsboro Oregon. In Fall 2007 I launched the program fully funded. I created this program as part of my senior project at Marylhurst University it is now completely run by Hillsboro Community Art. Through grant writing I was able to have the program fully funded and with connections in the community I was able to obtain a gallery show for the youth artist to display their work. The program has been amazing for the youth and it was fun working on it.

My sister has been my best patron, bless her heart, but one day hopefully they will catch on and I can spend hours making these lovely small pieces of artwork for people to share with friends and family.

This project was a labor of love and the first of this kind of project but hopefully not the last.

I illustrated by hand all the artwork in watercolor. At the time I didn’t know how to scan, or color correct and so I spent hours with a print shop getting everything just right. It turned out to be a great learning experience. The book is available on amazon.

The sheer mass of books was enough to boggle your mind. It was exciting to go and exhibit our book, which at the time was a small paperback we had self published. We sent several boxes of books home from the show, some of which we still have now.

Wordstock, Portland Oregon, May 2005. A small scale book and literary arts show. We exhibited the book I illustrated and also did arts and crafts with the children there. It was a lot of fun.
