Part of being successful is about the people you know, but part of it is about the tools you utilize. Organization is key to balancing many different projects and making them all be number one. When I started out and realized I was really in business, several months after it happened I concluded I needed a real invoicing system. FreshBooks is a great option for any small to medium sized business needing a simple easy to use invoicing system that keeps track of everything. Evernote is also lifesaver it is easy to organize thoughts, urls, and more so they are available easily with simple searches. Keeping my documents secure and backed up and readily accessible is also essential so I use Dropbox, even when I am out of the office I can e-mail and edit documents to a limited extent with my smartphone.
